MANAMA: A Bahraini hotel security guard was brain dead last night after being shot in the head at a hotel in Adliya. Abbas Ali Salman Hadi, 27, was shot in BJ's, Al Bustan Hotel, early yesterday after he intervened to stop a customer, also a Bahraini, from harassing a girl. The shooting happened at about 2.30am. Preliminary investigations showed he was shot with a silencer-equipped gun. Mr Hadi was admitted to Salmaniya Medical Complex's intensive care unit with a bullet lodged in the skull. The CID is investigating. Mr Hadi, who is one of eight brothers and sisters, is newly married. He works for a company in Sitra during the day and with the hotel during the night. Seven Leisure group general manager Karim Miknas said the guard fell down the stairs in suspicious circumstances. The police are investigating, he added. He told the GDN that Mr Hadi has been a model employee, very hard working and friendly with clients.
